Jonathan “Rocky” Hagloch has been acting, directing, producing and writing in Chicago theatres since 1983. He has been involved with Music Theatre Chicago, Kaumba Theatre Company, the St. Sebastian Players, Theatre II, Prairie Dog Theater Company, as well as writing and performing for corporate events for Tamar Productions. In 2015 he along with his partners John Oster and Leigh Johnson formed Subtext Theater Company where he serves as an Artistic Director. He also worked outside of Chicago with The Old Creamery Theatre Company of Garrison Iowa, University of Minnesota Duluth Summer Repertory Theatre and the Fargo Moorehead Community Theatre in Fargo North Dakota. He studied theater arts at Culver-Stockton College (BFA), television production at Westfield State College (Massachusetts) and began his Master’s program at University of Minnesota Duluth.

Inspired by the true story of young Jimmy Mallon's incredible journey from Ireland to France in search of a cure of his infliction at Our Lady of Lourdes. A Bump on the Leg details Jimmy's young life in storyteller fashion that will delight and deliver faithful inspiration to audiences.

Jonathan “Rocky” Hagloch brings 45 years of theatrical experience to the role of Jim Mallon. A master storyteller, Rocky will pull audiences into the life of young Jimmy Mallon in his remembrances of his boyhood illness that took him from his home in County Armagh, Ireland to Daisy Hill hospital in Newry to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast to his long journey from Ireland, then all the way through England to France for his final destination of the grotto at Our Lady of Lourdes in search of a miracle to cure his leg. This remarkable story is brought to life with added video vignettes of young Jimmy’s life and travels.

Leigh Johnson (Author) is a founding member of Subtext Theater Company along with Rocky Hagloch and John Oster. His plays Brother’s Keeper 2016, A Prayer for the Sandinistas 2017, A Bump on the Leg 2023 and Uncle Carlos Explains 2025 were all produced by STC . Other works seen on Chicago stages include Lefties, Lotto Fever in the Sucker State, Little Stones, and The Khe Sanh Bagman. He is also a novelist, and his books Jesus in Sepphoris, Way of October, and Children of the Maulvi can be found on Amazon Kindle and Good Reads under L.K. Johnson.

Rocky is a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Naperville, IL. He has attended CRHP and became a member of the giving team as well as a member of the traveling CRHP team bringing "CHIRP" to other parishes. He has attended a Cursillo weekend and served on a giving team for Cursillo as well. He understands the POWER of a good witness talk and believes completely in Jim Mallon's story!
