WLTF, where oldies rule in Moorhead, Minnesota, is once again presenting its annual Christmas tradition of sponsoring The Moorhead Theater Company's broadcast presentation of LEGALIZE LUTEFISK! You can be a part of the studio audience down at the "local VFW Hall" as members of the Moorhead Theater Company present a LIVE broadcast reading of their original holiday play! Join them as they take us back to a simpler time—a time before the Internet, before Facebook, before cell phones—return to December 1979, when a Georgia peanut farmer was in the White House and the Soviet Union still ruled half of the industrialized world. And for the Larson family of St. Cloud, Minnesota, December brought only two certainties: a visit from Great Uncle Sven and the traditional holiday meal of lutefisk.
Jill Chukerman Test will bring the voice of Ellen Larson to life. This loving mother of two has been slaving all day in a hot kitchen preparing the Swedish sausage—the courf, Swedish Limpa bread, the bruna bern—the brown beans, the potatoes with the cream gravy and the lingonberries, but most important of all, the lutefisk. Will this traditional Swedish holiday meal please her family?
